To kick off the season and commemorate the October 12, 2019, game against the Saint-Louis Blues, Jason Wasserman, a popular artist from the city, breaks the ice with a creation inspired by the world of superheroes. “Welcome to Your Doom!” expresses the intensity of the confrontation by using the graphic language of comic book covers. Set in Montréal’s imagery, a Blues striker fires a powerful slapshot at the Canadiens’ net. Suspended in flight, the puck awaits its fate in front of an intimidating goalie. Signed and numbered by the artist, the first artwork resulting from the collaboration honors the city’s iconography, the imagination of childhood and street hockey on a low brick wall.

Jason Wasserman is a Montréal born and raised artist. He has worked as an illustrator, painter and muralist since specializing in screen-printed t-shirt and poster design.
Obsessed with comic books and illustration from a young age, Wasserman eventually went on to earn a BFA from Concordia University. His signature style is easily recognizable as hand-drawn images rendered in a bold black and white aesthetic, inspired by a love of comics, tattoo art, vintage illustration, and typography.
His paintings, murals, and prints have been exhibited internationally and he counts among his many clients Ubisoft, Sid Lee, Vidéotron, Britney Spears and Cirque du Soleil.
