Station 16 Gallery is proud to announce our upcoming June show with PichiAvo. We are elated to welcome the duo fresh off the burning of their 85 foot tall neo-classical sculpture in their hometown of Valencia, Spain. You will be able to experience their work in person at Station 16 Gallery from June 6thto June 30th. The duo is most known for their impressive juxtaposition of classic and modern art; using images of ancient gods set against an urban graffiti background. For their June shown PichiAvo has created several large colorful works on canvas that are most frequently depictions of the romance, grief, playfulness and power found in ancient Greek sculpture.

Choosing to elevate their style and conceptualization through collaboration, PichiAvo have been a duo since 2007. Together they create pieces that challenge our preconceived notions of both classical and modern art with a new fusion that is faithful to its classic heritage but heavily influenced by a modern urban viewpoint, a style accurately dubbed urbanmythology. Together they create works that are equally as aesthetically pleasing as they are thought provoking, pieces that are heavily influenced by the street and elevated by complex subject matter.
